A play is one set of picks you submit in a league. You start it from your dashboard's generate play button (Pick'em leagues say make picks instead — see the Pick'em guide for that variant). This page covers the ordinary daily play board: what you see, how you pick, and how to submit.
The play board is a table of the games available to you, one row per game. Which columns appear depends on how the league is configured. You'll always see the sport and the two teams; beyond that, a league can offer picks on the spread (favorite vs. underdog), the total (over vs. under), or both, and each of those adds its own pick control to the row. A league running the Unit Advantage option shows a banner noting that spreads have been adjusted for that mode.
In a trivia league the Board is questions instead of games: one row per question, two answers underneath, no spreads or totals. Pick a side on every question and submit — trivia plays grade the instant they're in, so you go straight from lock-in to results. Sweep the Board and your Units double per correct call; miss exactly one and the Consolation Clause pays a single merciful Unit and your streak survives. The Daily Trivia guide covers the whole game.
The number of games you need to select depends on the league's game-selection mode:
The Submit Picks button appears once you've met the required number of selections. Which of these modes a league can use is set by its owner and depends on their plan — see Subscription Plans.
If your plan includes live scores, a Refresh Games button pulls updated odds onto the board. Refreshes are metered: each plan gets a set number per day (none on the free Sandbox plan, up to 500 a day on Vanguard), and once you've used your allotment for a league, that league's play button goes into a temporary "blocked" state until the next day.
Because a play is built against a specific snapshot of the odds, the board actively guards against page reloads (F5 / Ctrl-R) so you can't re-roll the odds mid-play. The first attempt sends you to a warning; a second attempt voids the play. Use the on-page Refresh Games button if you want fresh odds — never your browser's reload.
When your selections are in, submit the play. From there it becomes a pending play and is graded as its games resolve — see the Dashboard Overview for where pending and completed plays show up, and Results Explorer for reviewing them afterward.
