This page is the full-length reference for every field on a league's Advanced Settings page. The settings page itself only shows short hover tips next to each field — come here when you want the whole story behind one of them. See Advanced League Settings for the shorter overview and where to find the page.
This is separate from allow same-day grading above it, and it only looks at a player's own results, never anyone else's. When unchecked, a player can't submit a new play in this league on a calendar day (in the league's timezone) where one of their own earlier play groups in this league already graded — it stops a player from picking again same-day with knowledge of how their last group landed. It's unchecked (blocked) by default for every new league — few leagues actually want same-day re-picks after a group grades, so the safer default is off, with owners opting in here if they want it. This control is only available to owners on a paid plan (Emerging and up) and admins; Sandbox owners keep whatever default their league was created with.
A game's cutoff is always in effect — cutoff buffer (minutes before kickoff) sets how early a game stops being offered, and a value of 0 means it stays eligible right up until it starts. Allow live odds does not skip that cutoff. What it does is let odds keep updating — and let plays be built against those updated odds — for a game that's already in progress, all the way up to the cutoff you've set. Without it, a game's odds are locked once the game starts.
Every league is either standard (compete against the league as a whole — a units leaderboard) or head-to-head (compete against other players directly, paired up week by week). Head-to-head leagues use win/loss/tie records instead of units for their standings.
Head-to-head leagues also choose how opponents are assigned each week. Round robin rotates everyone through a fixed schedule so, over a full pass, every player faces every other player once. Random opponent selection (pick a fresh opponent each week instead of following a fixed rotation) is reserved for a future release — it can't be selected yet.
Only matters with an odd number of players, since someone sits out each round. Three options:
Whole league sits out — nobody's record moves that round; the odd player out simply has no matchup.
Bot-fill — the odd player out faces a demo (bot) account instead of sitting idle. This needs an auto-demo account already added to the league as a member; if none is available, that round falls back to a league-wide bye instead.
Lucky bye — the odd player out is credited an automatic win for that round, no opponent needed.
Tiebreak method decides what happens when two players in a head-to-head matchup finish a week with identical units. Real tie just lets it stand as a tie — the safest option, and the only one that works for every format. Break by that week's win count uses each player's number of individual game wins that week as a tiebreaker before falling back to a real tie.
Schedule repeat decides what happens once every player has faced every other player once (a full round-robin pass). Keep rotating through opponents all season starts the rotation over and keeps filling weeks until the season (or playoff boundary) ends. Stop once everyone has played everyone ends scheduling after the first full pass, even if weeks remain in the season.
Choosing a playoff format is what turns playoffs on for a head-to-head league — there's no separate on/off switch. Leave it unset for a season-only league (round robin, no playoff phase). Single elimination ("sudden death") stops regular-season scheduling at your playoff start date and moves to a knockout bracket from there. Total units (cumulative) also stops regular-season scheduling at that date, but instead of elimination, every pick from the playoff window counts and whoever has the most correct picks wins. Double elimination is reserved for a future release — it can be selected and saved, but the bracket engine behind it isn't built yet, so a league set to it won't actually run one until that lands.
Turns this league into a weekly board instead of a daily/parlay play — see the Pick'em guide for how saving, locking, and grading work. It can be set at creation (only available for NFL leagues) or toggled here afterward. Turning it on forces the league to straight, home/away-only picks regardless of whatever game-type settings it had before — that part isn't optional, Pick'em only works one way.
Only shown for leagues set to carry over into a new season automatically (rather than being archived) when they end. Off by default — players stay enrolled and their current-season stats reset to zero for the new season. Check this if you'd rather everyone re-join fresh instead. Either way, career totals like championships and best finishes are never touched — only this-season counters reset.
