Every league has its own chat — a simple forum where members talk trash, compare picks, and keep the season social. It's organized into threads rather than one endless feed, so different conversations stay separate. Chat is open to members of the league; you reach it from the league once you've joined.
The chat is a list of threads, split across two tabs. Current shows the active conversations; Archived holds ones that have been wrapped up. Each thread in the list shows its title, who started it, how many messages it has, and when it was last active, so it's easy to see where the conversation is happening.
To kick off a new conversation, type a title (up to 150 characters) into the "start a new thread" box and create it. Give it a clear name — "Week 3 upsets," say — so people know what it's about before they open it.
Opening a thread shows its messages in order, each with the poster's name and a friendly timestamp. To join in, type your message (up to 500 characters) and send it. You can post to any active thread; archived threads are read-only until they're reopened.
The person who started a thread, and the league owner, can manage it. When a conversation has run its course, archive it to move it off the current tab and into the archive — it stays readable, just closed to new posts. If it needs to come back to life, reopen it and posting resumes. This keeps the current tab focused on what's actually live without ever deleting history.
